Ethan was born in New York City, but was raised in Los Angeles.

Following Mallrats, Suplee made a bet with director Kevin Smith that he could lose more weight than him in 10 years. He won the bet, losing almost 100 pounds.
Formerly starred on the the smash hit TV series My Name is Earl, (alongside Jason Lee) where he plays Randy, Earl's brother.
Suplee says that even now, with all his success, he is most recognized for playing Frankie Stecchino on Boy Meets World.
Has a daughter named Francis Clementine Suplee, who was born on June 23, 2005, with his fiancée, Brandy Lewis.
