Mary Beth was the roommate of Julie at their sorority house at Beach U. She recently had a bad break up with her boyfriend, and was very emotional during the time Eric, Shawn, and Cory were staying in her room. She developed a dislike for Shawn, and threw him out of her room, while telling Cory to stay because he was a sensitive guy. She begins aggressively seducing Cory, who had just had a fight with Topanga, and nearly takes away his virginity until they are interrupted by Eric, who convinces Cory not to go through with it after they discuss going after what it is they really want instead of what is easy, and Cory ends up rebuffing Mary Beth's advances, staying faithful to Topanga.
