Gordy is a friend of Allen Matthews played by Micky Dolenz who performs with an impromptu band at Allen and Amy's 20th Anniversary Party. The band is actually three fourths of the pop rock quartet The Monkees. Gordy performs with Jedediah Lawrence (Peter Tork) and Reginald Fairfield (Davy Jones).
