Synopsis

To comfort Cory, who is feeling insecure about his looks, Topanga cuts half of her hair shorter than the rest to demonstrate that looks don't matter. Her plan backfires, though, because she is horrified about how she looks. Cory then comforts her, telling her that she should go to the salon after school to get it evened out. But after master stylist Bosco Cellini has his way with, she is even more gorgeous than before. Now feeling even more insecure, Cory is in despair and Topanga seems oblivious. It takes a talking to from Shawn (in the girls' bathroom) to get through to Topanga, who rushes over to Cellini's salon to prevent Cory from getting made over. Even though she arrives moments too late, Cory looks exactly the same.

Meanwhile, Eric has nothing to do at home, so he invents a show in his mind called Good Looking Guy, where he is a handsome detective solving crimes. He also goes on a date with Tammy, who is his age but has a son. She is on her own and in much worse off than Eric. In the end, Alan and Amy force Eric out of the house to find a job.

Notes

  • Old Lady Schneider, a character in the episode as part of a joke, is not credited with a role.
  • This episode was included on the Season 1 DVD set as a bonus episode.
  • Danielle Fishel was not allowed to cut her hair for  many years. When she requested that Topanga get her hair cut, they turned it into an episode.
  • The cast incorrectly says this is the first episode of the 4th season (on season 1 commentary, where it was featured as a bonus episode. It is in fact, the second.
